Hair Care Tip: Keep Your Color
Summer hair care can be tricky, especially when your hair is color treated! Here are some of our favorite ways to prolong that rich salon color!
1. When leaving the salon do not wash your hair for 48 hours to allow the color to absorb into the cuticle of your hair, it can take up to 2 weeks for that cuticle to close .

2. Home care is SO important! Your stylist can only do so much to maintain your hair color. it’s a 50/50 relationship with your stylist . Check in with your at-home routine to make sure the products you are using on your hair are safe and have heat/UV protection. Keep it heathy friends. .
.
3. Your shampoo & conditioner really do matter. Are you using sulfate free/color safe shampoo? When you’re spending time and money on your hair at the salon, you want to make sure it last and stays healthy. Please be wary of store/online hair care, many of these products might state that they are color safe & sulfate free but can actually be expired products or may not contain the best ingredients for your hair. Always trust your salon professional.

.
4. Do not wash your hair everyday . All though I understand hair can get greasy for some your hair needs those good & bad oils to stay healthy . Invest in a dry shampoo that you love and that’s works for you to get you through that day or days (personal favs : Moroccan Oil and R & Co ).
.
.
5. Toners/Glazes : These are crucial to refresh that beautiful hair color you had when you left the salon . Within 4-6 weeks it’s time to see you stylist. Prebook your appointment when you leave the salon with your stylist for this service so you do not have to have to deal with the stress of waiting until the last minute or until it’s too late and the dreaded brass, yellow or fade has taken over . Glaze/Toners can also be used to shine an existing color or even darken the previously lightened hair without making it permanent on the hair
This will refresh your color between lightening or color services.
Good hair days to all!
